Baby's First Year and Beyond

Cayden’s Lemon Themed 1st Birthday Cake Smash Session

Cake Smash

“Squeeze the day!” … “Kids are the zest!” …  “Live your zest life!” … “Easy peasy lemon squeezy!” …

Are you finding me punny yet? I am so excited to share this session with you because it helps remind us that, in spite of everything that has happened over the past few years, birthdays are celebrated every day and there is joy to be had in this world. It was a beautiful day at the studio, perfect for the fresh and sunny vibe dad wanted for this session. He really wanted Cayden’s bright personality to shine for our shoot in Greenwich, Connecticut, and of course the studio was perfect as pie for that look and feel.

The perfect day for a milestone session, and I had the perfect little subject. These clients were also Belly to Baby session clients. They signed up for me to document the milestones of advanced pregnancy, newborn Cayden, and now Cayden’s first birthday cake smash session! I love working with families in this way! These clients are just the most fun and I am always honored to be a part of this very special season of their family life together.

You can see Cayden’s newborn session, here.

The backdrop painted by my mentor, Heidi Hope, couldn’t have been a better fit. I hope to photograph Cayden again as he grows up.

This is one sweet milestone cake smash session, filled with cheery details, and I am excited to share a selection of the beautiful images with you!

Cayden’s smash cake was created exclusively for Looking Up Photography by Sweet Lisa’s Exquisite Cakes, who is always fun to collaborate with!
