Legacy of Love | Greenwich Maternity & Newborn Photographer

Newborn

There’s nothing like watching a friend you’ve known for years finally get something they’ve always wanted. That’s what I was able to experience when Peter married Natalia, and when they had their first child together. Peter has been my personal trainer for 8 years (I met him when my daughter was only 1!). I remember years back how excited he was to have kids someday. Most of his clients had children and always talked about them, which only fueled his passion. Looking back, he’s thankful for that time, as he was able to get a lot of free advice and knowledge of the joys and challenges of parenting.

Peter is originally from Massachusetts, while Natalia is from Mexico. They ended up meeting at a park in Greenwich, and it was love at first sight. When he first told me about Natalia once they started dating, he said that he had met “the one”. I remember being so excited for them! Now, years later, I had the precious joy of doing both their maternity and newborn sessions.

For the maternity session, I loved finding creative ways to highlight Natalia’s belly bump, and used simple things like a white backdrop and a single cloth to let it have the spotlight. Both Peter and Natalia were glowing when they arrived for the session, so eager and excited to meet their little bundle of joy. They were about equally as happy as they were when they got married, which I witnessed when I photographed their engagement session and their civil ceremony in Greenwich (their wedding was in Mexico). I distinctly remember the big smiles they had during both events.

When their baby boy finally arrived, they were over the moon! The newborn session went like a dream, and we had a lot of fun with a variety of scenes. For one, we swaddled him in lots of fur, making for a soft picture full of cuteness. In another scene, we set him in a basket full of blankets, and went for a grayscale palette to highlight the pops of blue, as well as his precious skin tone. Some of my favorites from the session, though, were when everyone got in the picture. Peter and Natalia were grinning ear to ear, and you could tell that Peter was so proud of his newborn son, while Natalia showered him with love. All I could think of was how precious waiting is when you realize the value of what you will receive.

If you’re in the same boat as Peter and Natalia were, then you need to check out my Belly to Baby Package – it’s the perfect package for you! Contact me here to reserve your session today.

Enjoy!
